Who Am I and Who Is God?

Picture
One thing I know about college is that it will stretch you and mold you. It's a place where you will make some of your best friends for life. It was an experience I will never forget and I appreciate to this day. I have a friend who served on the Cedarville University Team as the team leader at The Barn, who gave me the following letter while I was in college spending my days and nights studying. This letter is written to me from God's perspective.
"No matter what you do, where you go, what you say, how you feel,
I will always be here and I will always love you."
Even though the letter is addressed to me, we all can begin it with our own name. I ask you to do just that, insert your own name as you begin to read this letter.
"Eric, you are my child and I love you so much that I would have came and died, if only for you (John 3:16). I know right now things may seem stressful or overwhelming. You may not think you know what to do...but I have an ultimate plan (Jeremiah 29:11). A plan I have had for you since before you were ever born. A plan to use you and your talents, abilities, strengths, weaknesses for My glory and to build up My kingdom. Roll your plans to Me and let Me worry about them. I will use them to accomplish My purpose here on this earth. You do not have to understand the plan, but just trust Me, rely on Me, and know that I will always keep my promises (Proverbs 16:3; Jeremiah 10:23; Psalm 37:5).

No matter what you do, where you go, what you say, how you feel, I will always be here and I will always love you. Actually, I am the Only One who will always be here, and the Only One on who you can always depend. In my darkest hour my closest friends, Peter, James, John and the rest, deserted me. Peter, who said he would die for me, denied me, not once, not twice, but three times!! It was in the plan and it had to be done so that I would die and be the atonement for the sins of the people on this earth then, now, and forever. My friends never did understand all I was trying to teach them...it was difficult being among those closest to me and not feeling like they understood. Praise God for My Father in Heaven, who knew and knows everything that was, is and will be (Proverbs 3:5).

Be still and know that I am God (Psalm 46:10). Cry out to me and I will answer. Understand that you are worth everything to me, because I created you (Genesis 1:26). Created you! In My image! I could have created you however I wanted, but I chose to create you in my image! I know you better than you know yourself. I know who you are, who you are becoming, who you will be...and still...I love you! ('How Great the Father's Love for Us' -song)

I will always be faithful...how can I not? It would be against my very character. Even when those who love me are not faithful, still...I am! I am that I am. What people may think about that statement when they read it, I don't know, but I am...everything.

I am your comfort, your peace, your hope, your strength...I am the source of all faith, love, power...I am the One who was, and is, and is to come. I am a strong tower, I am a mighty warrior, I am your Savior, I am Sovereign, I am Holy, I am the Creator, I am the anointed One, I am good, I am the One who meets every need, I am the advocate for the poor, for the oppressed, for the orphan and the widow, I am the Provider (JEHOVAH JIREH), I am the One who sanctifies, I am the Healer, I am the Redeemer, I am the Great Shepherd, I am Righteous, I am Faithful, I am the God who sees all (EL ROI), I am always there, I am Excellent, I am the God who hears, I am the Mighty One, I am the Most High, I am the Deliverer, I am the Savior, I am the Shield, I am Everlasting, I am the Rock, I am the First, I am the Last, I am the Light of the world, I am the Bread of Life, I am the Living Water, I am the Way, I am the Truth, I am the Life, I am the Resurrection, I am Salvation, I am Wisdom, I am Rest, I am Freedom, I am greater than your past, I am the Lord of your future, I am the reliever of stress, I am the Alpha and Omega, I am the Beginning and the End, I am Wonderful, I am all knowing, I am He who searches the heart, I am the Giver of Joy, I am the Giver of Conviction, I am the Judge, I am the Master, I am the King of kings, I am the Lord of lords, I am Immortal, I am Eternal, I am the Father, I am the Teacher, I am your Drink, I am your Feast, I am ageless, I am Timeless, I am Messiah, I am the Bridegroom, I am He who raises the dead, I am the forgiver of sins, I am worthy of honor, I am worthy of praise, I am worthy of worship and worthy of thanks. I am Almighty, I am the Giver of life, I am indescribable, I am uncontainable, I am not boxed-in, I am not conventional...I am the King of Majesty, I am exalted above every nation, I am glorified, I am just, I am the carrier of burdens, I am the hope for the lost, I am the Restorer, I am the Helper, I am the Lion, I am the Lamb, I am the Sustainer, I am He who became flesh so that I might live on the earth to become sin for the world, so that all could be saved through me!

I AM EVERYTHING! I AM HE! I AM THAT I AM!"

There are many ways we can interpret things that our minds take in. The Bible is full of wisdom to lead us in interpreting and pondering the things of life. These writings are a result of my ponderings and can involve sports, books, movies, culture, music, Barn happenings, and other life events.
